Local Agency Management Program for Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS)

Significant Changes in Local Agency Management Program (LAMP) from 2016 Standards

On August 23, 2022, the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to review proposed amendments to the Santa Cruz County Code Chapter 7.38 (Sewage Disposal) and the General Plan. These amendments are required to bring the county provisions into conformance with state policy and the County’s Local Agency Management Program (LAMP). The LAMP was adopted by the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board on October 14, 2021, authorizing the County to implement the LAMP immediately.

The Santa Cruz County Planning Commission held a public hearing on June 22, 2022 of the ordinance and General Plan amendments, requested a couple edits for clarification in the ordinance, and adopted a resolution recommending Board approval.

Since implementing the LAMP, County has identified additional changes to the LAMP that are needed for clarity and effectiveness. These revisions and the ones suggested by the Planning Commission can be seen in the items posted below.
